Las Vegas DOT Compliance & Federal Filing Services for Truckers and Owner-Operators

Las Vegas sits at the crossroads of I-15 and US-95, with freight moving daily between Southern California, Utah, Arizona, and beyond. If you run a truck out of the valley, from Henderson to North Las Vegas to Pahrump, your federal paperwork has to keep up with you. USAFE Services is a DOT compliance filing service based right here at 9079 W Post Rd, Suite 100, Las Vegas, NV 89148. We handle the FMCSA and IRS filings that keep you legal, so you can keep driving.

Why local matters

Most filing companies are a website and a call center somewhere else. We're a Las Vegas business. You can call us, stop by the office, and talk to the person actually filing your paperwork. For a new owner-operator getting authority for the first time, that makes a real difference.

We serve carriers nationwide, but if you're in Clark County, you can sit down with us in person.

Services for Las Vegas carriers

BOC-3 process agent filing

Every for-hire carrier, broker, and freight forwarder needs a BOC-3 on file before FMCSA will activate operating authority (49 CFR Part 366). We designate process agents in all 50 states and DC and file the BOC-3 for you, usually the same business day. Learn more about BOC-3.

UCR registration (2027 is open now)

If you operate interstate, you need Unified Carrier Registration every year. 2027 registration opened October 1, 2026. Fees start at $55 for 0–2 vehicles, and you should be paid up before January 1, 2027, when states can start enforcing. Nevada doesn't participate in the UCR agreement, but Nevada-based carriers that run interstate still register through a participating state. See 2027 UCR fees and deadlines.

MCS-150 biennial updates

FMCSA requires an MCS-150 update every two years, on a schedule set by your USDOT number, plus anytime your information changes (49 CFR 390.19). Miss it and your USDOT number can be deactivated. We'll tell you your due date and file it. How the MCS-150 schedule works.

Form 2290 (HVUT)

Trucks with a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pounds or more owe the federal Heavy Vehicle Use Tax on IRS Form 2290. You need the stamped Schedule 1 to register or renew your plates. For trucks already on the road in July, the return is due August 31. For a truck first used in a later month, it's due by the end of the month after first use. We e-file the return and get your Schedule 1 back fast.

Out-of-service and reinstatement help

USDOT inactive? Authority revoked after an insurance lapse? We pull your SAFER and L&I record, explain what happened, and file what's needed to get you reinstated. DOT out-of-service help.

New authority setup

Starting your own trucking company in Las Vegas? We'll walk you through getting your USDOT number and MC authority, BOC-3, UCR, and the first-year deadlines that catch new carriers off guard.

What Nevada carriers often ask

Do I need anything from Nevada DMV, too? Nevada has its own intrastate and registration requirements through the Nevada DMV Motor Carrier Division. We focus on federal filings: FMCSA (BOC-3, MCS-150, authority), UCR, and IRS Form 2290. We'll point you to the right state office for the rest.

I only haul inside Nevada. Do I need UCR? Generally, UCR applies to interstate operations. If you never cross state lines and don't haul interstate freight, you may not need it. Ask us and we'll look at your operation.

How fast can you file? Most BOC-3 and MCS-150 filings go out the same business day we get your information. UCR posts quickly once it's paid.

Is your compliance check really free? Yes. Enter your USDOT number in our free compliance check and we'll show you what's current and what's due.
